The Mercedes-Benz W111 coupe series was Mercedes's hand-built, Paul Bracq-designed full-size coupe available during 1961-1971. The 220 SE variant, the earliest of the coupes, was offered from 1961 to 1965. Each W111 underwent a hand-built production process at the Sindelfingen factory, providing precision and attention to detail that would become increasingly rare in subsequent decades. This time-consuming production process significantly limited the number of W111 coupes produced.

220 SE coupes were powered by the 2.2L Mercedes "M127" inline-six featuring fuel injection, sending power to the rear wheels through either a 4-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic transmission.

While the exterior has received a respray in the original "181H - Light Beige" color, the red interior remains in its original and unrestored condition with all wood veneers intact. The only deviation from factory specification is the slightly lower stance resulting from lower profile tires than original.
