1965 Mercedes-Benz 230 SL "Pagoda" (W113)

Mercedes 230 SL “Pagoda” (W113) เป็นรถรุ่นที่สองของ SL หรือ “Sport Leicht” (สปอร์ตน้ำหนักเบา) สืบทอดต่อจาก 300 SL และ 190 SL รถเปิดตัวออกสู่ตลาดในปี 1963 งานออกแบบที่โดดเด่นโดย Paul Bracq พร้อมกับหลังคาแข็งรูปทรงคล้ายหลังคาวัดแบบสถาปัตยกรรมตะวันออก เป็นที่มาของชื่อเรียก Pagoda อันโด่งดัง

รถคันนี้เป็นรุ่น 230 SL ซึ่งมีการผลิตในช่วงปี 1963 - 1967 ใช้เครื่องยนต์ 6 สูบเรียง 148 แรงม้า จ่ายน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงด้วยระบบหัวฉีดแบบกลไกที่พัฒนาโดย Bosch ซึ่งนับว่าล้ำสมัยในยุคนั้น ส่งกำลังผ่านเกียร์ธรรมดา 4-สปีด ไปยังล้อคู่หลัง

รถผ่านการ Restore มาใหม่ทั้งหมดตั้งแต่ภายนอก ภายใน ไปจนถึงเครื่องยนต์กลไก ทำให้ยังคงอยู่ในสภาพดีตั้งแต่ภายนอกสีเงิน ภายในหุ้มหนังสีแดงโดดเด่นด้วยพวงมาลัยสีงาช้าง อะไหล่โครเมียมที่ยังคงความเงางามสมบูรณ์ทั้งภายนอกและภายใน ไปจนถึงห้องเครื่องและพื้นที่ท้ายรถที่สะอาดเรียบร้อย

นอกจากนั้น Pagoda คันนี้ยังมีความพิเศษคือเป็นรถที่จดทะเบียนในเมืองไทยตั้งแต่ปี 1965 นับเป็น นับเป็นเวลา 60 ปีที่ Mercedes คันนี้ถูกครอบครองอยู่ในไทย ซึ่งเมื่อรวมกับการเป็นรถ 230 ปีการผลิตแรกๆ พวงมาลัยขวา และสภาพรถที่ผ่านการฟื้นฟูมาแล้วอย่างสมบูรณ์ก็นับว่าหาได้ยากและทรงคุณค่า

The Mercedes 230 SL "Pagoda" (W113) was the second generation of Mercedes-Benz "Sport Leicht" or lightweight sports car, succeeding the legendary 300 SL. The W113 debuted in 1963 with cutting-edge engineering and iconic design penned by Paul Bracq, which gave it the distinctive concave hardtop, earning the nickname "Pagoda."

This 230 SL belongs to the first series of Pagodas built from 1963 to 1967. The car is powered by a 2.3L inline-six with an advanced Bosch mechanical fuel injection system, delivering 150 hp to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox.

As a result of a complete restoration, this Pagoda is beautifully presented with a metallic silver exterior, red top, red interior, and intact chrome trims. The restoration also extended to the engine, which idles smoothly and quietly.

Additionally, this SL has been Thai registered since 1965, the year it was built, meaning it has been a Thai resident for 60 years. This combination of an early production 230 SL in right-hand drive, with manual transmission, and original Thai registration certainly makes it a rare collector’s automobile.
